Sobre este artículo

Philadelphia, PA: University of Pennsylvania Press, 1982. First U.S. Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine. Thick 4to., 850pp. Beautiful First US Edition. Bound in 1/4 navy blue cloth over brown cloth-covered boards with titles in gilt on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with little or no wear. Spotting on top pages. Sharp unclipped, though unpriced, dust-jacket is fresh and bright with no chipping, creases or tears. Inscribed, signed and dated twice by the author on the half-title page. First, in the year of publication, to noted Philadelphia historian and author Dennis Clark, "For Dennis in admiration with affection, Henry. Philadelphia. April 1982". The author has also sketched out a pen illustration of a house just above the inscription. Further to Tom Fox, (with his unobtrusive blind-stamp on the title page), the noted New Jersey Irish-Ameican author, collector and professor of Irish history and literature, Fox was called by Nicholas Basbanes, ",,, a kindred spirit...assembler of an uncommonly distinctive collection of Irish history and literature". The inscription reads, "For Tom Fox, with all best wishes, Henry Glassie. Charlottesville, Virginia. May 10, 2003. A gorgeous collectable copy with a very nice association and provenance.
