Chris Kitch was born illegitimate and brought up in the rough streets of Bradford. Her step-father did not want her, all three of her children were taken into care soon after each was born. In and out of prison with no home, she existed in a twilight world of drugs and alcohol, prostitution and homelessness. Chris survived but her beloved friend Jean didn't, dying of drug abuse.
