The jacket is clean with the original $2.50 price intact and marred only by some shallow chipping of less than a 1/4-inch at the spine ends. Classic mystery novel, published in England in 1926 and the basis for the film starring Charles Laughton and Elsa Lancaster. This is the first American edition published 16 years later, A Haycraft-Queen cornerstone, considered as one of the top detective novels of the century.
