The scarce first edition of this travel journal through India following rivers with illustrations. First edition of Peaks and Lamas by Marco Pallis in the original publisher's cloth binding. A scarce edition with only ten copies held in libraries. Illustrated with one colour plate, ninety five photographs and illustrations on monochrome plates, and three monochrome maps. Collated, complete. Marco Pallis was a British-Greek author and mountaineer. He wrote many works on Tibetan culture and religion. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The hinges are slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
