Original pictorial cloth, color illustrations and plates, Overall wear, some scribbles one name in pencil etc., binding shook with front hinge detached, rear hinge cracked, stained/chipped boards with some tearing at head/tail of spine, faded spine, pages are overall bright with light scattered foxing, lacking rear free end page. No jacket. ; Well packaged in a box, ships with tracking.Paul West was an American author, playwright and songwriter. He collaborated with W.W.Denslow to created the illustrated book The Pearl and the Pumpkin (1904) which was turnedinto a musical the following year. In 1918 he sailed to France as a Red Cross worker in World War I where he later died as a result of injuries sustained in a gas attack.
