This is a signed and inscribed "To the 'Queen of the Nile' Thomas S We peel grapes" It is a typescript draft of a screenplay of one of his father's better known books, The Pearl and dated "Final Draft Polish Corrected 9/24/94"
It is comprised of looseleaf pages between vinyl cover pages held by common office fasteners, and is in excellent condition with no other marks or damage
It was acquired in an auction of items from the estate of John and Elaine Steinbeck, so this copy was owned by John Steinbeck's third wife Elaine, who died in 2003 The estate auction tag is shown in the photo
