Sobre este artículo
New York; (1948): John Day. First Edition. Octavo. . 312 pages. Inscribed by Pearl Buck on the title page. An important novel by Pearl Buck, the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize. While Peony is written in the realist style of Buck's earlier works, such as the Good Earth, it is distinctive in showing not only the lives and cultural practices of the Jews and their amazing assimilation into China while elsewhere they were castigated or as in the case of Nazi German marked for extermination. A near fine copy bound in brown cloth stamped in gilt, spine gilt, in near fine unclipped pictorial dust jacket.
