Sobre este artículo
New York: Doubleday Doran & Co., Inc., 1937. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6". None. The first US edition of the extraordinary story of Vita Sackville-West's grandmother, Pepita. First US edition. With portrait frontispiece. The biography of Josefa (Pepita), the half-gypsy daughter of an old-clothes pedlar from Malaga, makes her fortune as a dancer in Madrid; soon she is the toast of all Europe. Her affair with a young English attaché then sets the scene for a most bizarre family history. Written by her granddaughter Vita Sackville-West, an English novelist, poet, journalist, diarist, and garden designer, noted as the friend and lover of Virginia Woolf. In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and bumping to the extremities. Small marks to the front board. Front hinge tender but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Very Good
