Sobre este artículo
London, United Kingdom: Hutchinson & Co., 1936. Bound in the publishers aqua green cloth with contrasting black title lettering to spine and front board. This copy has been signed by Fred Perry in blue ink to a white label which has been affixed to the title page. All pages are present and correct and tightly bound. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. 34 black and white photographs of the illustrious player's career support the text throughout. There is a foreword to the book by the other great player of that golden era in English tennis, H.W. Austin or 'Bunny' as he became affectionately known by the tennis adoring public. Many of the lessons, guidelines and tips are still extremely valuable and relevant in the present, even with the speed at which the modern day game is played out. An excellent and informative book displaying all of the fundamental skills and more on the game of Lawn Tennis. Light foxing to the prelims otherwise a very clean and tidy copy. Housed in the distinctive dustwrapper with a black and white photograph of Fred Perry to the front and rear panels. Light overall rubbing and wear to a dustwrapper of a rather delicate and fragile nature. Some loss to top and bottom of spine otherwise wholly intact. A very rare Fred Perry SIGNED first edition to be found with the dustwrapper surviving in any condition. Fred Perry was England's International champion and Wimbledon winner in 1934, 1935 and 1936. There has never been an English or British male player since to hold that most esteemed of titles. Could Andy Murray be the one to break those agonising years of drought for the loyal British tennis loving fans ? This is one for anyone who loves and is fascinated by tennis through the ages and in particular the era when the English gentlemans game really sparkled. Dustwrapper now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Photographs of both the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. A most presentable copy !. Signed by Author. First Edition. Near Fine/Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. FIRST EDITION.
