Fine binding in full burgundy Harmatan morocco leather, Beautiful gilt work re-creating the original cover & spine designs, all worked in 24 carat gold leaf, Inner turn-ins and board edges tooled in gilt, Edges of text block gilt, Marbled endpapers, Signed by the binder in gilt on lower rear turn-in, Hand-sewn silk endbands. A very fine example. Exterior - the fine binding is in immaculate condition. Interior - excellent, the pages are very clean with just the odd mark or two which I have emphasised in the photos (pp 76-77) All the colour illustrations are beautifully preserved including the captioned tissue guards. One tissue guard has a slight crease and browning. With specially made slipcase. 126pp text Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, with 50 colour plates, mounted on grey paper with captioned tissue guards. All plates in this edition bound at the rear, except the frontispiece. All tipped in colour illustrations and tissue guards are present and correct.
