Original leather boards rubbed and worn with bumped corners, spine repaired and covered with modern brown tape, needs to be taken to an expert bookbinder to be rebound because it is very good internally with no tears or damage, foxing is mostly confined to the end papers, a few old names of previous owners are written on one of the blank end paper pages the oldest is dated 1774 and the newest 1860. No publisher's date is printed but the publication was about 1755, frontispiece shows a cameo portrait of Plato, 142 numbered pages plus one advert page for Robert Taylor, bookseller.
