N.Y.: Folkways Records. Fine Vinyl Record/Near Fine Record Sleeve. 1975. 331/3 RPM LP VINYL RECORD. This very rare folk LP is volume 8 of the Broadside Ballads series, released by Folkways Records of New York in 1975. It includes 12 songs, 10 of them originals written by Sammy Walker, including the controversial title song SONG FOR PATTY, All songs feature Walker on vocals and guitar. Produced by Phil Ochs. The cover features a full color photo montage on front, showing Patty Hearst holding a machine gun, in front of a burning building. Also included is an original 8 page illustrated booklet, with all the song lyrics. This was Sammy Walker's debut album, recorded when he was 22 years old. A resident of Georgia at the time, Walker was a "discovery" of Broadside magazine, which published the first works of many prominent singer / songwriters in the 1960s and 1970s.
