Membership directory of an undergraduate literary society at McKendree College, the oldest college, now university, in Illinois. Affiliated with the Methodist church, the school is located in Lebanon, Illinois, 20 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri where this pamphlet was printed.

In addition to listing the members (by year of initiation, beginning in 1837) of the Philosophian Society, the directory includes a list of honorary members, selections from the society's constitution, and notes on its governance, library, finances, and future prospects.

Rare, OCLC recording two copies (AAS and Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library).
