Conner's exquisite bw photos of China: the old, the new; the sacred and the secular; the lush and the desert; the mountains and the plains; the urban and the remote. With a foreword by Spence, a lengthy essay by Barme, and a two-page essay by Conner. Includes a note on spelling and a map.
