Sobre este artículo

New York: Grove Press, 1969. First edition. fine/very good. First printing (stated). Fine in very good dust jacket with some foxing to the white edges and flaps and two small faults rear panel. Small folio hardcover in black cloth lettered in white. 32 full page black and white photographs (photo pages printed rectos only) with introductory essay by Nat Hentoff. Presented in two suites of photos, one devoted to heterosexual love, the other to lesbian love. At the beginning of 1969, an exhibition of most of these striking, tasteful, evocative and photographically brilliant images of the art of lovemaking were shown at a gallery in New York's East Village. This being the first exhibition of such explicitly erotic photography, the gallery owners were understandably nervous, fearing a firestorm of controvery. The storm never occured, however, and over 7000 people viewed the exhibit during its six-week run.
