Scattered light browning, age toning, a few finger marks and later pencil marks, but generally clean internally. Old sketch of a king in redpencil to verso of an early engraving, trimmed a little close touching the running title at the end. The first edition of the popular emblem book with the iconic engravings of Bolswert. (30), 406, (6)pp. Engraved title, arms of Pope Urbain VIII and 46 engravings numbered 0-45.
