Sobre este artículo
New York: A.S. Barnes & Company, (1957). First Edition. First printing. Quarto. Full pictorial "mission leather"; viii,328pp. Mild scuffs to binding at spine ends and board corners; spine leather a touch faded, still a tight, clean, Very Good or better copy.
All copies of the first printing appear to have been bound in "Handcrafted Mission Leather" by Brown and Bigelow of St. Paul. A small brochure from the binder is laid-in, extolling the historical bona-fides of their product: "...From the old monasteries where monks - themselves, skilled leather craftsmen - had preserved these precious secrets, comes Mission Leather, the richest, most beautiful, and enduring of all fine leathers...luxurious, rugged, pliant and friendly Mission Leather, an exclusive Brown & Bigelow product." Despite the company's self-congratulatory accolades, this leather - essentially a padded and artificially-textured sheepskin - appears extremely prone to wear, this copy being in far nicer condition than usually seen.
