Illustrated with black and white sketches, photographs, portraits, autographs, etc. Dark brown cloth covered boards. Leather corners and spine. Leather scuffed on the spines. Front hinge broken and partially glue. Edge creases and edge tears to the Volume III title page. Light soiling and creasing to the half titles pages. Interior contents clean. Light spotting to the foredge. George Newnes was a popular publisher of periodicals and magazines in the late 19th century into the early 1900's. His company published the Strand Magazine.
