London: Frederick Warne, 1889. Decorative Cloth. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Blue cloth with decorative front cover in gold, silver and black, gilt spine is faded, yellow endpapers. Some marking to the covers, toning to the pages, browning to the blank endpapers, last page and frontispiece reverse. Slight loosening to the inner front hinge. Signature on the endpaper. Colour title and frontispiece, + 4 other plates printed in brown (including the interior of Roslin Chapel) + black and white illustrations throughout the text. Pages; VII, (1), 511, (1).
