Sobre este artículo

London: Martin Secker,, [1921]. First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author in the year of publication on the front free endpaper, "Margaret Pearce with very best wishes from Robert Graves, Boar's Hill 1921". This inscription captures a brief but significant period of Graves's life: while residing at Boar's Hill, he met T. E. Lawrence, lived with his first wife Nancy Nicholson, and neighboured fellow war poets Edmund Blunden and Robert Nichols. Graves wrote this early poetry collection while convalescing from shell shock and living in a cottage (now called "Dingle Cottage") in the garden of John Masefield at Boar's Hill, just outside of Oxford, while a student. He stayed there from late 1919 until June 1921. His other neighbours included Robert Bridges and Gilbert Murray. The print run comprised 500 copies, which are scarce found inscribed. Octavo. Original buff snakeskin-patterned boards, carefully rebacked to style. Portrait frontispiece after Ben Nicholson. Bookseller's ticket on front pastedown. Wear to corners, title page browned by tissue guard, occasional foxing of leaves. A very good copy. Higginson A6.
