Sobre este artículo
London: Faber and Faber, 1935. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Good Plus/Good. First edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19.5 × 12.5cm, 284pp. In the years after the Great War, a young couple move to an Elizabethan farmhouse, Pigeon Hoo, on the Kent / Sussex borders (believed to be Tenterden). They meet a cast of characters from builders to gardeners, and this novel relates their experiences in the country. As an interesting aside, Franklin Lushington was an artillery officer in the Great War and was poet Edward Thomas's commanding officer at Arras (he later wrote about this in The Gambardier under the pseudonym Mark Severn). Condition: The book itself is in strong readable condition, with some light foxing tot he title page and page edges. A previous seller has penned the price of 2/- to the rear endpaper. The dustwrapper is good, with several small closed tears to the edges and spine but is now within a protective sleeve and has not been price-clipped.
