Early edition (originally published in 1853); 8 1/2 x 5 1/2; pp. [7], vi, [3], x, [1], 14-230; heavily-embossed magenta cloth over boards, decorated with a gilt vignette to front board, gilt title to spine, and gilt edges; illustrated with 28 steel engravings, including frontis, and 31 woodcuts; fading to spine cover; small manuscript signature of previous owner to ffep; few, occasional spots of foxing; in very good condition. A lavish edition of Bartlett's work, originally published in 1853.
