It is second only to the Bible in popularity in Christian literature works.Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette title page, and thirteen plates.Collated, complete.John Bunyan was a Puritan preacher, as is best known for his work 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. He was jailed after the restoration of the monarchy as he refused to give up preaching him nonconformist ideas. He spent twelve years in jail during this stint, during which he begun work on 'Progress'.With explanatory notes by Thomas Scott and a life of the author by Josiah Conder.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.From the library of Paul Gallico, a noted novelist best known for 'The Snow Goose' and 'The Poseidon Adventure'. In a full calf binding. Externally, with some rubbing and light marks to the boards and spine. Front board is detached but present. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spotting. Good Only

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
