The Heirloom Library / Weidenfeld & Nicholson, London, 1960. Reprint. Hardcover (Illustrated Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Hazel Cook. List of colour plates, one being the frontispiece. Throughout the text there are black-and-white line drawings, all drawn by Hazel Cook who also drew the illustrations for the end pages. Red coloured cloth covered boards with illustration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Hazel Cook, with orange and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The immortal tale about the puppet who wished to be a boy. First published in Italy in 1883. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with a little bumping and rubbing of the book corners. Tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. The edges show the occasional small tear with rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels and a little sunning to the back strip and top edge of the rear panel. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
