The portfolio shows edgewear, has a few bumps, and lacks the ribbon ties. Complete and in very good condition overall.

Richard Burton was a 19th-century oriental scholar known for his extensive world travels and controversial editions of iconic works. One of his adventures occurred while in Bologna, Italy where he was digging for Etruscan artifacts. He used his findings, along with the research of fellow Bolognese professors, to write 'Etruscan Bologna' which became one of the best resources on archaeological history of Bologna. Burton, whose literature was often over-sexualized and witty, provided a thorough and focused analysis of ancient Etruscans seeking to uncover mysteries on the Roman-influenced culture.
