Hardcover with unclipped dust jacket, xvi + 324 pages including drawings and maps, plus black-and-white photographs; elegant book in red cloth covers with vertical navy blue stripes, very gently read, if at all, tight in binding, not a trace of shelf wear, ink signature dated "1969" on dedication page, otherwise very clean and unmarked throughout, pages fresh and white; DJ has several tiny tears, a couple of short tears, a large chip to the back bottom edge.
