Two quarto bindings; in later blue morrocco over grey|blue cloth, with raised bands with decorations and lettering in gilt; Volumes One with title page, Volume Two with title page and half-title; the volumes have 40 plates (2 folding colored plates, 1 folding sepia plate; 26 full page colored plates; 11 full page sepia plates, and I plain (uncolored) engraving; [NOTE: This copy appears to be lacking a single color plate of a Russian Nurse].~~There is next to no foxing, though 2 or 3 plates have several quite small spots.~~The author and artist, Sir Robert Ker Porter; was appointed historical painted to Tsar Alexander I. Very Good binding.
