Irish playwright, Richard Brinsley Sheridan, became famous as a playwright after eloping to London at age 21. His works have become standards of English literature. Contains St Patrick's Day, The Duenna, The School for Scandal and A Trip to Scarborough. In a handsome prize binding, with the crest of Rugby School to the front board, with a prize book plate to the front pastedown. In a calf school binding, with gilt lettering and design to the spine and boards. Externally, very smart with rubbing and slight fading to the spine. Marbling to fore-edge, with some discolouration. Prize bookplate to the pastedown, awarded to H. H. Hardy from Rugby School in 1901. Yellowing to the front free endpapers. Slight yellowing to the rear free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean though slightly age toned. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
