Shows rubbing to extremities, less so to the edges and surface of the boards, also spine, with leather spine labels detached, leaving blind-stamping which is readable. All edges marbled, top edge darkened, the others bright; this marbled design is identical to the end papers. Well bound, both covers firmly attached. Pages are bright and clean with hardly any foxing, free of markings. This volume consists of the plays: Julius Caesar, Anthony and Cleopatra, Cymbeline, Titus Andronicus and Pericles. This edition "Accurately Printed form the Text to the Corrected Copies left by the Late George Steevens and Edmond Malone, with Mr. Malone's Various Readings." Plus "A selection of Explanatory and Historical Notes from the Most eminent Commentators; A History of the State, and a Life of Shakspeare" by Alexander Chalmers. 554 pages.
