Sobre este artículo

Edited with an introduction and notes by N. Bryllion Fagin. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Press, 1946. 1st edition. A publication of the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore. A brief essay by John Esten Cooke, a popular Southern author who heard Poe lecture shortly before his death in 1849. Written in the mid-19th century but published for the first time in this edition. In Cooke's view, Poe penned "some of the fiercest, most savage, and most unfair literary criticism ever published." Slim hardcover with green paper boards. 15 pp. Frontispiece of a facsimile page from Cooke's manuscript. Approx. 7.5 x 5.5 inches. VG with modest wear, light stains to cover. "Whitney" family bookplate and signature of N.J. Whitney. A solid copy overall of an uncommon Poe item.
