New Haven, CT: Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor, 1870. First edition, 1870. A poem expressing nostalgia for The Gunnery, a private school in Washington, CT. The author was an alumnus and went on to Yale where he was a member of the early Bulldogs football and baseball teams. Very worn, brown cloth over flexible covers, gilt front cover lettering, about 9 inches tall, 16 pages. Covers worn and spotted with the top halves partially separated, hinges internally cracked, pages loosened with a few detached, pages age-yellowed with old dampstains around the edges, name of Robert S. Cooke stamped on the front free endpaper, no other names or markings. Complete.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
