Ingelow rose to sudden fame after the first edition of this work was published in 1863.This anthology contains a total of twenty-two poems, including 'Persephone', 'The Star's Monument', 'Afternoon at a Parsonage', 'Strife and Peace', and 'Winstanley'.Engraved by the Brothers Dalziel with many in-text engravings throughout.Collated, bound without the frontispiece. In a half crushed morocco binding with cloth to the boards, bound by Bayntun. Externally, smart, with a little light rubbing to the leather. Spine is a little faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
