London: Printed at the Chiswick Press, 1867., 1867. 4to. pp. xvi, 415, [1]. with half-title. 4 mounted albumen prints, the frontis. portrait of Gray from a painting, the other 3 of Eton, which are oval, from nature. decorative ornaments, initials & title vignette. printer’s device at end. full calf by Riviere, spine richly gilt, gilt borders on covers, gilt edges & inside dentelles (front cover spotted, some light wear, a few leaves lightly foxed). Presentation leaf, inscribed by Headmaster James Hornby of Eton College to a graduating student, dated 1871. Second Edition (first: 1863). Copies of both of these photographically illustrated editions of 1863 and 1867 printed at the Chiswick press were frequently presented as parting gifts to graduating Etonians, as here.. Hardcover.
