Written by Matthew Arnold, an English poet and cultural critic who worked as an inspector of schools. With an introduction by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, a British writer who published using the pseudonym Q. Although a prolific novelist, he is best known for the monumental publication The Oxford Book of English Verse 12501900. In the original quarter calf binding with green cloth boards. Externally, very smart with light bumping and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
