In a full calf prize binding from 'Charterhouse' school with their gilt crest to the front. Raised bands to the spine. Illustrated with a monochrome portrait frontispiece of the author.This work features the collected poetical works of English poet and critic Matthew Arnold. The work also contains an introduction by Arnold T. Quiller-Cough and a short biography of the author. In a full calf prize binding. Externally excellent with slight marks to the boards and spine, slight fading to the spine and minor rubbing to the raised bands. Prize label with light marks to the front pastedown with minor offsetting to the extremities of the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with only light spotting from the front blanks to the title page. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
