The entirety of the poetic works of England's Robert Herrick (1591-1674) is presented in this single volume. Herrick is described by D. C. Browning as standing ". . .in the front rank for sweetness, grace and true poetic fire. . .". With glossary, endnotes and index of first lines at rear of volume. Everyman's Library catalogue no. 310, an entry in EL's "Poetry" series, edited by Ernest Rhys, who has also supplied an introduction. This work originally appeared under the title "Herrick's Hesperides and Noble Numbers" in an earlier Everyman's Library variation. --- In EL binding style 3 with full green cloth and gilt-stamped spine titling; blindstamped Eric Ravilious-designed 'shell' to cover, and brown topstain. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- A sound copy, tightly-bound and unmarked, though with prior owner's inked info. (in near-perfect handwriting) to front free endpaper, sunned spine & slight soiling to cloth.; 16mo - 6 to 7 in. tall; xvi, 512, 16 (ads) pages .
