Boston: E.P. Dutton and Company, 1864. Hardcover. Near fine. New edition,"with many new poems." 206 pp, in original green cloth. Light rubbing to extremities; near fine. Inscribed on the front pastedown "To a new friend who seem a very old one and has become a very dear one. Robert Lowell, Oct. 8, 1870." Unfortunately, the inscribee is unknown. Robert Traill Spence Lowell (1816 -1891) was an Episcopal clergyman, educator, and poet. He was the son of Unitarian minister Charles Lowell and elder brother of poet and literary critic James Russell Lowell.
