Sobre este artículo

London: Printed by T. Bensley, for E. and S. Harding, 1797. Hardback, covered in marbled paper covers with leather label to the spine. The preface is dated March 1796, and the pagination conforms to the first edition, but the date to the title page has been very neatly cut out. We are a little confused by this copy. The pagination is correct, and every page number is present as it should be - but there are 14 engraved head pieces by Thomas Stothard, and 8 engraved tail pieces (not 14 as other 1st edition copies mention). The is also no full page engraving. So this may be a second edition without engraving? The label is darkened, and the edge of the spine a little chipped, exposing the paper beneath. Still attractive though. A few light foxing spots, but the engravings are good clean impressions. The first section is of 'Elfin Eclogues', featuring characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream, with the remainder of the volume containing odes on various subjects, including: 'Music', 'Morning', 'Evening', 'the Glow-Worm', 'Love' and 'Youth'. vii, [1], 112 pp. 175 x 100 mm (7 x 4 inches).
