This selection of Ghalib's ghazals shows the power of the Urdu poet's abstract writing in the poetic form that constitutes two lines of equal length that tend to emote a third dimsensonal effect. Ghalib [1797-1869] was the preeminent Indian Urdu and Persian-language poet during the last years of the Mughal Empire and is considered to be one of the most popular and influential poets of the Urdu language.
