London: Suttaby, Evance and Company, 1820. v, [2], 8-182pp, modern full calf by Bayntun-Riviere, semi-raised bands, spine in six panels, title label to second panel, bands bordered by gilt rules, date in gilt to foot of spine, covers with blind single fillet border. Externally a couple of minor scrapes but generally very good, internally light browning to text, occasional light foxing, closed tear to 2Z, aquatints quite bright and clean. Original paper label laid on to ffep, with previous owners name to head. Complete with seven (six coloured) aquatints. The preferred second edition, Abbey Scenery 459, which notes as Abbey 456 (the first edition), "but much richer tinting". Second Edition. Full Calf. Good+. Illus. by Alken, S.. 4to.

It is open between 10am and 4pm weekdays, any other times by appointment. All books listed on the website can be examined here, but please let us know first if you are travelling, so that we can make sure it is still available. Not all of the books in the shop are listed on the website. We are members of the PBFA and ABA and exhibit at several of their book fairs, please see our fairs / events page. We attend many auctions and are happy to execute commission bids on your behalf.
