Sobre este artículo

Alfred A. Knopf, 2001. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. FINE/NEAR FINE. SIGNED and inscribed by the author, 'For Lindsay + Tom.' [12], 338 pp, [2], + colophon. Light gray paper-over-board hard covers backed in dark gray, silver gilt spine lettering. Exceedingly clean and sharp; DJ shows some very trivial rubbing to tips, crisp and bright o/w in mylar wrap. A collection of essays drawn from The New York Review in which, according to the DJ flap, her 'profound understanding of America's political and cultural terrain, her sense of historical irony, and the play of her imagination make Political Fictions a disturbing and brilliant tour de force.' Published in 2001, when disturbing politics were just getting warmed up.

Sinopsis

Political Fictions is a 2001 book of essays by Joan Didion on the American political process. Written for The New York Review of Books between October 1988 and October 2000, the collection includes three essays previously published as the "Washington" section of After Henry. Didion records the election of George H.W. Bush and his defeat by Bill Clinton, the Republican takeover of Congress in the 1994 elections, Clinton's impeachment, and the 2000 race between George W. Bush and Al Gore.
