Sobre este artículo

London: Longmans, Green, and Co. , 1905. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A lovely copy of the illustrated first edition of this report of the Salvation Army colonies through the United States and England. First edition. Illustrated with twelve images across six plates. Collated complete. A detailed commentary on the social work performed by members of the Salvation Army across the US and in Hadleigh, England, with chapters on agricultural and industrial establishments, Imperial patriotism, immigration schemes, and more. With notes from many interviews with prominent members of the Salvation Army. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. With the misprint of two pages being numbered XXXVI, the second I for page XXXVII is missing, as cited from "A Bibliography of the Works of Sir Henry Rider Haggard 1859-1925" by J. E. Scott. In the original full red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot. Light spotting to the endpapers. Near Fine
