New York: Boni and Liveright, 1917. "Poor People" was Dosstoyevsky's first novel, written when he was 24 (1846) and was an immediate success. Three years later, quite famous, he was in prison. This is a Very Good copy a Later Printing of the Modern Library edition, lacking the catalog and with decorative endpapers.. Dark green pebbled leatherette binding with titling in gilt on the spine; Modern Library logo in gilt on the front cover. Clean text; 252 pages. Introduction by Thomas Seltzer; no translator credited. Light ly rubbed at margins, most at the head and foot of the spine.A decent early printing of this famous work.. Later Printing. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
