Displaying Benjamin Franklin's wit and wisdom, these issues were very popular in the American colonies. In a prefatory note, the editors explain that material not authored by Franklin has been omitted from this edition. With the pseudonym of Mr. Franklin (Richard Saunders, or "Poor Richard") represented on title page. Includes illustrations in both color and black & white by Norman Rockwell, and with an introduction by Van Wyck Brooks. With translations of foreign aphorisms and end notes at rear of volume.
