William Craig Brownlee (1784-1860) was a reformed minister and an outspoken critic of the Catholic Church. A native Lanarkshire, Scotland, he earned his masters degree at the University of Glasgow, and after coming to the United States held pastorates in Presbyterian churches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 1826 he was installed as a minister at the Collegiate Reformed Dutch church in New York City and served several Dutch Reformed Churches in Manhattan until his death in 1860.
