Sobre este artículo
London: William Smith, 1840. Hardcover. G (some scuffing to leather, few weak hinges, average wear to edges; rear cover of Volume 3 off and broken that can be repaired; ex-library with bookplates in each.). 10 vols. Gilt tooled embossed red 3/4 leather with red cloth boards; gilt edges all around; various paginations; 240 steel engravings within the ten volumes. Title on spines: Lodge's Portraits of Illustrious Personages. A very nice set of this popular title. Presents 240 Englishmen and women in the order in which they were artistically rendered: from Elizabeth of York, the Queen of Henry VII in 1502, to Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, in the 1830s. Each volume has a bookplate from Newhouse Galleries gallery inside the front cover. Still nice shelf appeal.
