Sobre este artículo
Very Good/VG- 1st UK Edition, 1st Printing. (First English translation of "Vieille France".) Nearly perfect red boards with gilt lettering, no corner bumps. Spine, binding and all pages as-new, no foxing, no soiling. No markings but for previous owner's name on front endpaper. Unclipped dust-jacket has tanned spine, light chipping, and a couple of short edge tears (art by Heather Standring). 5.25" x 7.5", 156 pages. A very nice copy for collectors. Wily, cautious, enduring and curiously dignified, Joigneau (the postman) is the epitomy of the spirit of this audaciously unsentimental picture of rural France. Nobel prize winning author.
