She was considered to have swayed a wide public towards naturalism through her widely acclaimed and widely read books Pot-pourri from a Surrey Garden and Mor Pot-pourri from a Surrey Garden, which she published after the death of her husband. She died in 1925. mrs. Earle lived for the five winter months of the year in London and the rest of the year in Surrey where her beloved garden took up her thoughts, time and is the subject of this book.
