Sobre este artículo

London: 1798. Printed for Messrs. Murray and Highly in Fleet-Street, 1798., 1798. First edition. 8vo. Frontispiece full-page engraving. xii, 214 pp. Illustrated with 14 plates. Beautifully rebound with modern leather, raised spinal bands and gilt title. Timothy Sheldrake, Jr (the younger) (1759-1806) was a trussmaker of some distinction whose practical experience won him the respect of several influential physicians including Hunter and Baille. He became a frequent contributor to The Lancet and was involved with fitting Lord Byron with a device for his lame foot. It is said that early on an imposter impersonating Sheldrake made Byron a useless appliance boot. Ex library (stamped on versos and title page). This is a tight, very good book. Scarce in the first edition.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good.
