Sobre este artículo
Boston: William Ticknor, 1837. Ex-Library. Near Fine. Cloth. First American Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Boston: Ticknor, 1837. First American Edition, stated. 8vo. Green cloth binding with gilt lettering and black title block on front. 134 p. Illustrated. The dedication reads: "To the members of the Horticultural Society of Massachusetts: Permit me to dedicate to you a reprint of Mr. Hoare's Practical Treatise...I am persuaded that a cursory perusal of it will indicate the causes of the general failure of our vines, and that a strict adherence to the severe discipline so clearly illustrated by the author will restore the confidence of horticulturists of Boston and its vicinity in the capacity of the climate to mature in the open air some of the best varieties of foreign grapes." An exlibrary copy from Cape Cod's historic Sturgis Library in Barnstable, Massachusetts, the oldest library building in the country. Library marks include removable barcode and reference sticker, along with erasable pencil notations on title page. Originally part of the collections of Percy Fielitz Rex of Muhlenberg College and Yale Divinity School, and bears his bookplate. Minor shelfwear. Clean and tight. A near fine copy. RARE..
